DEVLIN'S BOYNTON SHILO
"Shilo" - AKC registered Golden Retriever
We made a 9 hour journey north in March of 2007 to pick up Shilo and take him in when a family member advised us that he was heading for the pound because his owner couldn't keep him and she couldn't find him a home. Shilo was 7 months old, untrained, not housebroken and we haven't looked back since.

DEVLIN'S BELLE
"Belle" - Labrador Retriever (Yellow)
Belle came to us in 1998 as a 4 month old pup (born in 1997) untrained and not housebroken. Her owner was a single mom and she couldnt keep her any longer in their apartment and the pup needed to be placed fast. I said we would take her, train her, and find her a home. Little did I know at the time, but "our" home was destined to be "her" home. Belle is, fortunately, still with us despite a few significant health challenges. She'll be 13 years old Nov 16th!

SUZIE
Suzie was another country "drop off" that we found living in our barn, whose sole source of nutrician was the chicken grain in the barn and rain water. Suzie was young (under a year) but extremely tiny for her size and was a skeleton with some skin on it. It took her several weeks for her digestive tract to adjust to eating cat food in spite of the gradual introduction and there were many messes to clean up. My mother, who lived with me at the time, took on Suzie's challenges but when Mom could no longer live with me, Suzie stayed. She is now approx. 13 years old.

POLLY
On a very recent visit to my family up north, my sister asked me if I wanted another cat. Of course I said no, but that didn't last long when I met this kitten. She was turned in at the local Humane Society and in her fear, exhibited signs of agression (growling, hissing, screaming) so she was immediately scheduled for euthanasia in order to make room for a friendlier, more adoptable cat. My sister's daughter brought her home to save her life and she was put out in their barn (too many animals in the house already). I saw her there and fell in love with her so I agreed to take her. As soon as she was spayed we brought her home. When she arrived, she went into the same agressive routine so we caged her for a few days to let her settle in and take in her surroundings (meeting 10 dogs is a lot to handle for any animal, let alone a young cat who just had surgery and has been uprooted twice in the recent past). She is the most affectionate, loving and emotional cat of our lot. We just love her to death. She sleeps on top of us and likes to cuddle and rub.

Polly [for "polydactyly"] on the bed
A polydactyl cat is a cat with a congenital physical anomaly called polydactyly (or polydactylism, also known as hyperdactyly), a type of cat body type genetic mutation, that caused the cat to be born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of its paws.
DEVLIN'S ASPEN SLALOM
"Aspen" - Great Dane (Mantle)
Aspen came to me from a friend in lieu of a monetary debt. This lady had to move and did not have any arrangements made and was going to be "in transition" for a period of time. Knowing that I had had a black Great Dane in the past, and that I still had a soft spot for them, she asked me to take on Aspen.
