Devlin Border Terriers

GLENCARRAIG WAGGERY WAYFARER

Afectionately known as "Darby"

In 2008 I began my quest for a male pup to replace my current stud dog. A number of people I contacted didnt work out and I really wanted an Irish male but it was proving difficult to access the irish dog network. I did finally manage to contact a breeder and sent a deposit for a show potential male pup.

When Darby arrived it was very clear to see just how socialized he was by his breeder. He had no trauma from the flight, was eager to get out and meet his "new people" and to go anywhere and everywhere that he could. He continues to display this mental attitude as he grows and is truly a joy to have around.

Darby is truly a free spirit - open to every new and wonderful experience and cautious of none.

"SHOW NEWS"

Oct 17-18, 2009 ~ LONDON CANINE ASSOCIATION, Tillsonburg, ON
From "class clown" to "head of the class" in a short few months. Darby attended his third & fourth show taking BEST OF BREED as a Senior Puppy and BEST PUPPY IN BREED both Saturday and Sunday under Judge Elaine Whitney and Judge James Reynolds respectively.

Oct 3, 2009 ~ PINERIDGE KENNEL CLUB, Port Hope, ON.
Darby presented himself very well at this show and took BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX as a Senior Puppy under Judge Avery Gaudin losing to his younger travel mate, Willow.

Aug 28-31, 2009 ~ STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY DOG ASSOC.- Long Sault, ON
Darby made his show debute in the Rideau Terrier Club Specialty as a Junior Puppy on Saturday, August 29 under Judge Tim Doxtater [Surrey, BC]. Due to "owner/handler" error, he entered the ring at a great disadvantage and in the hurry, stress and excitement; behaved true to himself - the class clown.
Making a huge comeback, he was also entered in the Border Terrier Canada Specialty, in the Open Dog category, on Sunday, August 30 under Judge Jayne Gillam [Yorks, UK] and did much better even though he only achieved a 4th place which was great as he was in the ring against adult dogs. We are still very pleased with his improvement over the two days and will be spending alot of time with him teaching him some decorum. Darby's love of life and enthusiasm is something we will be guarding carefully as we work with him to "come down" a bit in the ring.

Darby continually adds joy and meriment to our lives with his comic and outgoing demeanor. He is always happy to make a fool of himself if it gets him some attention.
